Off topic: keeping a builders' chat group healthy

Post by NeilPre79 »

Off topic question for anyone who runs a builder or flying club group online.

A few of us local builders started a chat server to share progress photos and help each other. It grew to around 300 members, mostly through word of mouth, and we noticed that the same three or four people were bringing in nearly every active newcomer.

We wanted to thank them properly, and the default counts were useless because they included everyone who joined out of curiosity and left the same week. We started using an invite tracker that only counts people who stay, and it confirmed what we suspected.

Does anyone else organise their build group this way, or do you stick to email lists and forums like this one?
